Spitalfields is going all green

Spitalfields Market’s Keen Green and Ethical Trade Market is right up our street…

Recycling, re using, upcycling and ethical trading are all issues very close to our heart at Fashion Antidotes. Wefully support home grown talent and aim to supply the British fashion industry with an injection of highly skilled young seamstresses, pattern cutters and designers; Last year we ran upcycling workshops at the Ethical fashion in the age of austerity event, the Women of the World festival and at Vintage festival; And our very own Nina Cadzow, tutor and upcycler extraordinaire, creates beautiful designs with a penchant for ethically sourced British wools and manufacturing.

Being based in such a vibrant and exciting corner of London keeps us inspired, and the lovely local Spitalfields market are currently in the midst of their Keen Green and Ethical Trade Market. Occurring now and every Tuesday and Wednesday from 6th March 2012, the event will offer up an array of ethically traded arts, crafts, clothing, jewellery and home furnishings, alongside homemade and small production grocery foods containing fresh, traceable ingredients.

Old Spitalfields says, “The Keen Green market contains a variety of elements, which combine to ensure vitality and innovation. Fulfilling public demand for original products of good quality and novelty all for value of money. In addition local government project promotions, community focused initiatives, craft demonstrations and workshops will also be a part of the market.”
