A crash course on Pinterest for Christmas...

A crash course on Pinterest for Christmas...

So the turkey’s all gone, the crackers have been pulled and the first of many James Bond films has just started. If you’re lucky enough to enjoy that wonderful lull over the Christmas period where we actually, joyously, don’t have that much to do, don’t spoil it by answering emails or scheduling appointments, build your brand by making some boards on Pinterest instead…

At Fashion Antidote we are completely unabashed Pinterest lovers – from creating moodboards and trend boards, to the latest fashion design inspirations, Pinterest in a treasure-trove of images to collect and curate.

Like many a social media hub, it’s a great way to build your brand image and grow your audience. At its most basic, interest is an app/website that allows you to make collections of images and organise them into boards. People can follow you or your boards, and you can search for images, and we think it’sgreat for a creative business to use:

·         Make boards of your products, pinned straight from your website. These images will link back to your website driving traffic back to you if people are searching what your selling.

·         Inspirations – make boards of what inspires you to design, extensions of your brand image. This gives people a greater understanding of your design ethos, and if people like what they see, will drive them to your brand too.

·         Competitor research - It’s also a great tool for research. Many ecommerce fashion sites use Pinterest as an extra selling portal, so it’s a good way investigate what other designers are offering. For example, if you were developing bomber jackets, type bomber jackets into the top search bar, choose ‘pins’ and you can see a wealth of other designer’s takes on bomber jackets, many with prices and links to the site of origin.

·         And above all – Inspiration. Get yourself inspired for the new year with this incredible source for image references, and help your business out on the way!

May I add, we are not in any way affiliated with Pinterest. We just think it’s great.
